As part of the AICD’s Forward Agenda – our response to the ongoing focus on governance standards and practice – we have developed this director tool to help shape the board’s approach to governing organisational culture.
The suggested framework and question set within this document considers the role of the board in leading their organisation towards ethically-weighted “should we?” questions.
It recognises that despite inherent complexity, good culture is critical to sustainable performance. And furthermore, cultural change must be driven by, supported by and modeled by the leadership of the organisation, and integrated within the board’s overall governance role.
