The Australian Institute of Company Directors is pleased to announce that Alex Adsett from Alex Adsett Publishing Services is the recipient of the 2019 Gold Coast Regional Company Directors Course Scholarship.

Ms Adsett is the CEO of Alex Adsett Publishing Services, a full-service literacy agency, representing quality works of fiction and non-fiction for children, teens and adults. Additionally, the organisation also provides freelance consultancy services for Australian publishers and authors.

This full scholarship is offered to a high-calibre applicant from the Gold Coast to undertake the Company Directors Course Gold Coast on 13 to 19 March 2019, and forms part of the AICD’s strong commitment to the regional business sector.

AICD Queensland State Manager Melanie Mayne-Wilson congratulated Adsett and wished her well in her studies.

“Regional business makes up a significant part of the Queensland economy,” she said.

“The AICD recognises the importance of supporting regional directors and members with a focus on delivering events and education courses locally and understanding local needs and issues.”

Ms Adsett said she was excited at the opportunity to develop her skills as a director.

“I am looking forward to gaining a greater understanding of the role of a director and to hearing and learning from experienced directors and leaders in the business community.”

AICD Queensland offers a range of scholarships each year to prospective company directors as well as a number of training courses on governance for a variety of organisations including not-for-profits and businesses.
