Mr Crabb was a member of the ASX Corporate Governance Implementation Committee in 2006-7 when the Guidelines were first developed and was from 2007 to 2017 a WA Councillor of AICD. He had active involvement with the UWA Business School and was for many years a member of the Advisory Board of the UWA Centre for Mining, Energy and Natural Resources Law.

WA State Manager, Carl Cockerham, said Mr Crabb has been a prominent member of the WA business community and supporter of the AICD for many years.

“The Gold Medal Award recognises the significant contribution of a WA director to corporate life in the state and their contribution to the wider community. Mr Crabb is a worthy recipient.”

Mr Crabb said he was delighted to receive this award from his peers.

“I am very honoured to receive this award. A director role, regardless of the size or business of an organisation, requires the incumbent to make a positive contribution to its culture, strategy and sustainability. It is a complex job but it is rewarding to be part of a team that can work through challenges presented from time to time.”
