Paul Rayner


Paul Rayner was born in Hobart and went to The Friends School and the University of Tasmania where he graduated with a Bachelor of Economics degree in 1975. Paul moved to Melbourne at the end of 1975 and completed a Master’s Degree in Administration at Monash University in 1982. He has since then lived in Sydney and London and currently resides in Melbourne.

Paul has been a member of the Treasury Wine Estates Ltd Board since it was floated in May 2011 and has been Chairman of the Board and the Nominations Committee since September 2012.

He has had extensive international experience in various markets including Europe, North America, Asia, as well as Australia. Paul has worked in the fields of finance, corporate transactions and general management in the consumer goods, manufacturing and resource industries. His last role as an executive was as Finance Director of British American Tobacco plc, based in London, from January 2002 to 2008.

Paul is also a director of Qantas Airways Limited (since July 2008 and where he also serves as Chairman of the Remuneration Committee), Boral Limited (since September 2008 and where he also serves as Chairman of the Audit Committee) and a director of Murdoch Children’s Research Institute since December 2014.

Paul was a director of Centrica Plc, a UK listed company, from September 2004 until December 2014.
