Simon McKeon AO FAICD

Chancellor, Monash University

Simon McKeon is the Chancellor of Monash University and was also the 2011 Australian of the Year.

He has been with the Macquarie Group in a variety of senior roles for more than 30 years, including as Executive Chairman (Melbourne office). He is presently retained as a consultant.

He is a Non Executive Director of the Rio Tinto Group and of Spotless Group, previously served as Chairman of AMP and CSIRO and was Founding President of the Federal Government’s Australian Takeovers Panel.

Simon is Chairman of Summer Housing which provides housing options for young people with a disability and is the inaugural President of the banking industry’s Review Panel for the Banking and Finance Oath.

Simon is also Chairman of South East Melbourne, an alliance of seven Councils and Shires representing more than 1 million residents and 25% of Victoria’s GDP.

In recognition of the stature of our Fellows and on behalf of the Queensland Division Council it is our pleasure to invite you to the annual Queensland Fellows’ Dinner for 2019 to join in conversation with Simon McKeon AO FAICD.

Simon is a successful director, businessman, philanthropist and sportsman and in 2011 he was awarded Australian of the Year. Join us as Queensland State Manager, Melanie Mayne-Wilson GAICD will ask Simon to share personal anecdotes and memorable moments from his esteemed career.
