Healthcare Directors can hear about the implications for hospital and community health centre boards following the Community Health Taskforce which has been established to advise Victorian Government on opportunities to improve healthcare for vulnerable Victorians.
The report was released on 13 March 2020.
Phillip Bain, Chair, Community Health Taskforce and Interim Chief Executive, Your Community Health, will speak on implications for community health centre board.
Dr Stephen Duckett, Health Program Director, Grattan Institute; Chair, Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network (PHN); and health economist, will speak on the implications for primary health networks.
The Community Health Taskforce was established in August 2018 to advise the Victorian Government on opportunities to improve healthcare for vulnerable Victorians. Through an extensive review and consultation process, the Taskforce is identifying ways to strengthen the sustainability and capacity of the community health sector.
Drawing on the expertise of community health staff, consumers and collaborators, the Taskforce is working review funding models and identify the core role of community health in Victoria. Their insights will help the Victorian Government support community health services to meet the needs of Victoria’s disadvantaged and priority populations. In June 2018, the Victorian Auditor General tabled a performance audit of the Community Health Program.
