This course is suitable for all directors. 

This course is suitable for experienced directors looking to build or strengthen their financial governance skills.

It is recommended that participants:

  • Have completed the Company Directors Course, Company Directors Course Update or International Company Directors Course and have at least two years’ director experience, or
  • Have five years’ director experience.

This short course covers key areas of financial governance, including financial risk, reporting responsibilities and governance best practice.

To ensure good financial governance exists within an organisation, boards need to continually monitor and assess the policies, processes and systems that are in place and being applied.

Mastering Financial Governance explores the role of directors, both individually and collectively, in monitoring and assessing an organisation’s internal controls and ensuring their business is protected.

Participants will gain a deeper understanding of:

  • The role of directors in detecting and protecting against fraud and corruption
  • The different types of fraudulent and corrupt activities that can be perpetrated against an organisation, and the factors that lead to them
  • How boards can detect and protect against fraud and corruption in their organisation
  • The internal and external controls boards should be monitoring and assessing
  • The role culture plays in sound financial governance.

Mastering Financial Governance is delivered over one day and is led by expert facilitators with real-world experience.
