The Board’s Role in Cyber

Prior governance knowledge is recommended. Participants should be a current practising director with three years’ experience or have attended one of the below:

  • Strategy & Risk for Directors
  • Foundations of Directorship
  • Governance Foundations for NFP Directors
  • Or a course at strengthening level or above 
Course expectations

What can you expect?

You will join a small cohort of fellow experienced directors. Participants are given online materials in a variety of formats—videos, interactive quizzes, scenarios, case studies, discussions—to simulate real-world scenarios and apply learning in different contexts.

Virtual classrooms

Virtual classrooms take place during week two and week four of the course. The virtual classrooms are one-hour discussion-based sessions conducted via video conferencing software.

Online discussions

Each week there are tutor- and participant-led online discussion forums hosted on the AICD's Learning Management System. These forums can be accessed at any time to allow participants to challenge their thinking, reflect on the topic and explore content more deeply through peer-to-peer conversations. Tutors post discussion questions and monitor the forum each week to encourage participation.

This applied learning course is the essential next step for experienced directors wanting to take themselves to the next level of cyber literacy. Participants gain 10 DPD units and a Statement of Attendance.
