Following Sam Mostyn’s keynote address on the ‘Evolving Role of the Director’, Mostyn, Robert Fitzgerald, Productivity Commissioner and Alison Kitchen, Chairman KPMG reflected on how perception of businesses’ role has changed in society and shift has impacted trust levels.

After many years in senior corporate management roles in telecommunications, broadcasting and insurance, Mostyn now serves as a non-executive director on the boards of Virgin Australia, Transurban, Mirvac, and chairs Citibank Australia. She served on the board for the listing of CoverMore, which was recently sold to Zurich Insurance.

From 2005 to 2016, she served as a Commissioner with the Australian Football League, the first woman to be appointed to that role. She was an advocate for a more inclusive industry, strongly supporting the creation of an AFL Womens' League, and the focus on committing the league to respect for multiculturalism and indigenous Australia.
