South Australia – Leaders’ Edge Lunch
Last event of the year for the SA AICD team and it was a privilege to hear from the inspiring, polar explorer Tim Jarvis AM at our Leaders’ Edge Lunch in November – Surviving the Extremes – Lessons in Leadership. Tim spoke of the parallels between polar exploration and boardroom effectiveness, including the challenges he has faced, and lessons learned about leadership, resilience, teamwork and motivation. Amusing moment when Tim shared that the same calibre of questions do come up when speaking to ASX boards and to school kids about his epic Shackleton journey across 1,500km of Southern Ocean – How do you go to the toilet?
