The West End Series returns in 2020, curated by Bronwyn Barnes, Non-Executive Chair of Indiana Resources Limited, and in partnership with Association of Mining and Exploration Companies (AMEC). This series will focus on topical governance challenges for small to midcap explorers and miners in 2020.

The final event of the series is Buyer Beware.

The way mining companies raise money, acquire projects and “do deals” is becoming increasingly diverse with many new models.

It's important to understand the various options and demystify the language. Unless you know what it is you can’t do it.

Join the expert panel as they unravel these issues, and more importantly, discuss how do Directors decide what is the right model for their business.

The session will also cover:

  • Joint venture, partnership model, farm in – how we buy, sell and trade projects
  • Rights issue, placement, capital raise, shortfall placement, convertible note, shareholder loans – how we get money, from whom and at what cost
  • Working in Australia versus working offshore – different countries, different models
  • What happens when it goes wrong? What are options for Directors and how do you manage them through?
