Chief Executive Officer, Energy Efficiency Council

Luke Menzel is Chief Executive Officer of the Energy Efficiency Council, Australia’s peak body for energy efficiency, energy management and demand response. Luke leads the Council’s work to make sensible, cost effective energy efficiency measures standard practice across the Australian economy, and is deeply engaged in energy policy both federally and in states across the country.

Before being appointed CEO, Luke led the development of a new Australian certification scheme for professionals that manage comprehensive energy upgrades of commercial buildings. The Energy Efficiency Certification Scheme launched in 2013.

Luke sits on a number of government and independent advisory committees, and is Vice President of the Australian Sustainable Built Environment Council (ASBEC).

Independent Chair and Professorial Fellow, Monash University

Chloe Munro is a distinguished leader in the public and private sectors, with expertise in energy, infrastructure and natural resources. In 2018 she was made an Officer of the Order of Australia and named as one of the AFR 100 Women of Influence.

Chloe is currently a Professorial Fellow at Monash University and Chair of the Impact Investment Group’s two Solar Funds, Lucy Guerin Inc dance company, and the Energy Transition Hub Strategic Advisory Panel. She is also an independent director of the banking industry’s New Payments Platform and a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering.

Margarida is the Manager of Policy and Insights at Mondo, an independent subsidiary of AusNet Services Ltd. Margarida has worked in the energy industry for over 20 years in the areas of national energy market design, planning and operation; electricity transmission planning; generator connections; and more recently, distributed energy. Working for energy market operators, transmission and distribution network businesses, and in consulting, Margarida has a depth of experience informed over a period of dramatic structural change and market reform.
