Sarah-Jane Christensen FAICD

Ombudsman, Financial Ombudsman Service

Sarah-Jane Christensen is a professional director and lawyer with over 20 years’ experience in the financial services and resources sectors. Currently, she is a sessional ombudsman with the Financial Ombudsman Service.

Sarah-Jane is an accomplished non-executive board director having held directorships on the Boards of Coulson Tiles Pty Ltd, Cougar Energy Limited (now Moreton Resources Limited), Australian Business Volunteers Limited and Carey Baptist Grammar School (Vice Chair 2004 – 2010). She has also been a senior fellow at Monash University, lecturing on directors’ duties and corporate governance for postgraduate law students.

As an excellent communicator and skilled commercial negotiator, Sarah-Jane brings significant commercial experience to her roles at the Australian Institute of Company Directors: as accredited facilitator since 2011 and as recently appointed faculty adviser. She currently facilitates the Australian Institute of Company Directors’ Company Directors Course and in-house, registered organisation, public sector and not-for-profit governance programs.

Senior Policy Adviser, Australian Institute of Company Directors

Lucas leads the AICD’s policy work on not-for-profit governance. His current areas of focus are strategic challenges for not-for-profits, regulatory reform, and public accountability and integrity frameworks.

Previously, Lucas was a foundation staff member of the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission with responsibility for governance policy and education, and stakeholder engagement. He is a Graduate of the AICD and has held director roles on NFP and government boards.
