Former Chair, KPMG Australia

Peter Nash has most recently served as the National Chairman of KPMG Australia from 2011 through 2017. In this role he also served as a member of KPMG’s Global and Regional Boards. His previous positions with the firm included Regional Head of Audit for Asia Pacific, National Managing Partner for Audit in Australia, and head of KPMG Financial Services.

In his role as National Chairman, Peter was responsible for the overall governance and strategic positioning of KPMG in Australia.

Peter has worked in geographically diverse and complex operating environments providing advice on a range of topics including business strategy, risk management, internal controls, business processes, and regulatory change. He has also provided both financial and commercial advice to many Government businesses at both a Federal and State level.

Peter was recently appointed as the Chairman of Johns Lyng Group, a building services company that listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on 26 th October, 2017.

Peter is a board member of Reconciliation Australia, Koorie Heritage Trust, the Migration Council Australia and Golf Victoria.

Eddy De Gabriele FAICD

Chair, Regional Development Australia for Illawarra

Eddy De Gabriele FAICD has been involved in the Recruitment Industry, Engineering Construction Industry, the Community Sector, Disability & Aged Care Services & Govt Sectors since 1973. He owned & created the Edmen Group of Companies - a multi-industry managed staffing & rostering service business in 1990. By 1999 Eddy’s strategic vision of expanding Edmen into a National Multi-Sector Service Company, with more than 1800 employees across Australia, had been realised.

Over the last 12-years, Eddy has been awarded numerous personal and business awards and is currently a Director and Chairman on a number of Private, Community or Govt. Boards. In April 2017, Eddy’s National Business was acquired by a group that publicly listed Edmen Group in November 2017 as part of a newly merged group of entities on the ASX. Today Eddy continues to be in demand to mentor start-up businesses & help young executives explore dynamic innovative business leadership and successfully leads the various Private, Community & Govt. Boards to achieve greater and more sustainable outcomes.

Katherine Woodthorpe AO FAICD

Director, Sirtex

Dr Katherine Woodthorpe AO FAICD is a professional non-executive director with experience on a wide range of not-for-profit and commercial boards over twenty years. She is currently a director of several organisations, across a range of sectors, broadly in the innovation space. Amongst her current appointments, she is Chair of the Antarctic CRC and of tech startup space Fishburners, a director of listed healthcare company Sirtex Ltd and ARENA, the renewable energy agency. She was previously the Chief Executive of AVCAL, the Australian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association.

She has a PhD in Science and was awarded an honorary doctorate from UTS. She was cited in the Australian Financial Review as one of the 2013 “100 Women of Influence” and in 2017 she was appointed an Officer in the Order of Australia for her distinguished services to business and commercialisation of research . Katherine joined the AICD NSW Council in 2013.
