Dr Judith MacCormick FAICD

Managing Director, BoardFocus Advisory

Dr. Judith MacCormick is the principal partner at BoardFocus Advisory, advising leading company Boards and their Chairs on board effectiveness.

Judith has worked in Australia, Europe and Asia in senior management positions in banking and global consulting firms, consulting to national and multinational companies as well as the public and non-for-profit sectors. Prior to her current role, Judith was a Partner in the CEO and Board of Directors practice of the global executive search and leadership firm, Heidrick & Struggles with primary responsibility for Board search and Board advisory, working with some of Australia’s leading Boards. She has been and is currently a director on a number of boards in Australia and overseas, most latterly taking up the role of Chair of Queenwood School. With an interest in the interface of leading practice and research, Judith regularly taught on the MBA and executive programs at the AGSM, here and in Asia.

In between executive roles, advising corporates with Global consulting firms and 3 children, Judith also established two leading Japanese restaurants and sushi bar in Sydney.

Judith has a PhD in Organizational Behavior and MBA from AGSM, UNSW and USyd; a Graduate Diploma in Science from the ANU and a Bachelor degree in Social Science. She is a Fellow of the AICD, Visiting Fellow at the Business School at UNSW and a Sasakawa Scholar. She continues to publish articles and academic papers on the factors influencing organisational performance, leadership and disruptive technology.

René Johnson MAICD

René is a director of a boutique executive search firm operating nationally and internationally and focusing on the appointment of senior executives to listed and private companies, not for profits and government agencies.

Additionally, over the past 5 years René has been involved in numerous appointments of non executive directors to Boards of ASX listed companies, government agencies and member based organisations.

Christine Franks FAICD

Chris is a consultant who specialises in the analysis and resolution of challenging governance and corporate social partnership issues. She has a Masters in Community Management and extensive experience over twelve years on a range of Mutual and NFP boards and national membership organisations with executive experience as a consumer researcher, marketing and fundraising professional and as a senior executive in major NFP’s.

Currently Chair of Habitat for Humanity Australia, a not for profit providing housing solutions in Australia and the Asia Pacific, Chris is also a director of CUA, Australia’s largest mutual financial service provider, CUA Health and Chair of Credicorp Insurance. Chris also serves as a consumer representative on the NSW Clinical Excellence Commission, Medical Safety Committee and as an advisor to Credit Union Foundation of Australia.

Chris was Chair of the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID), Code of Conduct Committee that sets and maintains sector standards, and was recipient of the inaugural ACFID Award for Outstanding Service to the Aid and Development Sector. Chris has also served on boards of Oxfam, Save the Children NSW, and as Chair of the NSW Charities Ministerial Advisory Committee.
