Successful completion is indicative of your commitment to good governance practices and associates you with a community of informed directors who value ongoing director professional development.

Assessment

The assessment structure is

  1. Attendance
    1. Attend all three Foundations of Directorship sessions within 12 months

  2. Multiple Choice Quiz per session
    1. Online
    2. Open book
    3. 40 minutes comprising 9 multiple choice questions
    4. Pass mark is 65%
    5. One resit allowed per session

Timeframe for Completion

We strongly advise that the assessment tasks are completed and submitted within 4 weeks of completion of each session. This allows for marking and any required resits to be completed prior to the end of the three month assessment period.

Finance for Directors   3 months from attendance

All three quizzes must be completed within a 12 month period from the first session attended to be eligible for the Foundations of Directorship certificate.

Assessment outcomes

Assessment outcomes fall into two categories.

1. Foundations of Directorship Certificate   65% and above for all of the three quizzes
2. Foundations of Directorship — Statement of Attendance   No attempt at any of the three quizzes, or less than 65% in any or all of the three quizzes.

Results

Results are reported as a grade only. The mark or percentage is not provided. Assessment tasks are not returned to participants.

Resit Participants

Resit participants receive a grade and feedback based on the relevant learning outcomes associated with their course.

Feedback

The ongoing nature of the assessment tasks means that in addition to receiving a grade on their assessment task, resit participants will also receive feedback based on the learning outcomes related to the questions answered incorrectly.
