This short course provides an opportunity for you to step away from the day-to-day to focus on your role and responsibilities as a director of your organisation.

Through four interactive workshops, you will learn about relevant governance practices – including strategic guidance, financial oversight and effective risk management – and how they can be applied to your business today to create sustainable value.

Director at 360Private David Marsh said he derived great value from the course for the business he worked in, but also for clients and SMEs he was on the board of.

Mr Marsh said there were excellent templates for tasks such as tracking KPIs, and the course recognised that SME operators often have fewer resources than larger firms.

Who should attend?

This program has been designed for owners, managers and directors of small-to-medium enterprises who are focused on the growth of their business.

Mode of study

This course is delivered as a series of four 4-hour workshops:

  • Monday, Feb 3rd
  • Tuesday, Feb 4th
  • Monday, Feb 10th
  • Tuesday, Feb 11th

The course covers the following topics:

  1. Value creation through governance
  2. Value creation through strategy
  3. Value creation through financial management
  4. Value creation through risk reduction

Participants complete the program with a cohort of fellow business owners, and workshops provide the opportunity for attendees to connect, share knowledge, and learn from each other.

With a maximum of 25 participants per course, workshops are practical and interactive and facilitators will encourage participants to apply learnings to their own circumstances.
